restaurants

n a city overrun with minimalist supper clubs and all-white restaurants, The Tube is a daring design eatery located in a former garage along a dead-end street within central Cannes. Interiors boast a whimsical design of exposed metal piping, raw brick walls and polished concrete floors with a palette of mostly abstract modern art. An open kitchen presides opposite a stylish drinking bar lined in endless whiskeys and bourbons. As for the décor, a mid-century bend defines cushy club chairs, simple stone tabletops and metal school chair barstools.

The Food

Chef Bertrand Schmitt presides over a comfort menu of continental and French brasserie classics that begin with caprese salad, raw bar selections, carpaccio and crab served two ways. Main course is more of a meaty affair with pork chops, grilled meats, roast chicken and pasta dishes.
